I met Emma today!
Today I met my daughter Emma. She is 7 1/2 months old--her birthday is June 18. She is Kazak--meaning almond shaped eyes and slightly darker skin. There were 7 girls and 8 boys to choose from. It was an easy choice--I felt the bond immediately, and Tamara, the facilitaor said as soon as she met me that "Zhanerkee Abenova" soon aka Emma Grace was my daughter. She has been in the orphanage since she was 6 days old. She is absolutely perfect in every way-- especially her size--15 pounds. That's right--shopping at the mall as the clothes I brought will not fit for the most part. The snow suit is good, she tried it on today. Will try to attach pictures.
I am living in an apartment-- fully furnished...even has a microwave and a crib. It is a 3 story walk up--have definately learned a lesson about packing light. It is vastly different from the hotel in Almaty--will try to attach pictures. I actually did not get to Karaganda until last night at 11:00pm. It was a very long trip and I am still not sure what day it is. It was a pleasant trip that was pretty much uneventful. I will try to post more tomorrow. Since it is dark until 9:00am, I am not sure if I should be eating breakfast or settling in for the night. Hopefully will adjust soon. Thanks again for all of the comments!
