My apartment--the first door on the left.

Lena and Zhanna
Good morning! Today is day 8 of my 14 day bonding period! I can't believe how quickly it has gone. Today is Saturday, so I go to the baby house twice, as usual, but tomorrow is Sunday and I can only go once--from 10am to 12pm in the morning. The picture above is Lena, the translator who is with me at the baby house and for grocery shopping and everything else, and of course, Zhanna.
The other picture is of the door to my apartment. As you can see, sidewalks and roads are not plowed or shoveled. Most of the women wear very high stilleto heels, which kind of make sense believe it or not, because they dig into the ice and act like non slip studs. Most of the people (no, actually all of them) wear very neutral colored coats--pretty much only black and navy, with an occasional brown. Nothing quite screams American like a pink and white Columbia ski jacket and Timberland boots!! Don't ever worry about me getting lost in a crowd--unless they are just gathered around to look (LOL!).
The weather is bad today, snowing and blowing, so I must leave early for the baby house. Will try to write more later. Apparently, when the weather is bad, so is the internet connection--have been kicked off three times during the writing of this blog. More later...miss you all--more each day!

Hey Chris, Looks like everything is going so well! Zhanna is a lucky girl, and so beautiful. Can't wait to meet her,
Love, Lynn
